5 steps to make your child a topper [How to excel in CBSE 2024-2025 Board Exams?
Every Child is Special. This is what a famous Bollywood movie- “Taare Zameen Par” taught us. But answer this, “When was the last time you let your child try something for the first time?”

If you are a parent and are reading this then this blog might address all your questions and worries. Every parent wants to create a child prodigy, one who can recite poems in a jiffy, learn things like a robot, and even excel in extracurricular activities.

“There’s a painting competition? Oh, our child will participate. There’s a surprise test? Our child should score an A+.” Does all this sound familiar to you? If not you, then some parents around you must be extra cautious about the grades of their children.

Do you know why? Because every parent dreams of making their child a ‘Perfect Project’. However, in the process, they fail to realise that every student has different learning needs! While one student can learn through diagrams, another needs constant revision through questions.

If this is the case, then how can one NCERT textbook satisfy the needs of every student? NCERTs work on the principle of ‘One Size Fits All” and children studying in classes 6th-8th require interactive learning processes.

So, join us as we figure out 5 steps to make your child a topper. This blog will also tell you how your child can excel in the 2024-2025 academic session. If you want to read this blog with utmost attention, then you need to set your child free for at least 10 minutes.

Step No. 1- Lessen the screen time

You must have heard that having excess screen time can affect your capacity to take in more information. If you let your child’s brain sit idle and get bored, there’s a high chance that he/she might recall what his/her teachers taught during class.

Secondly, if there’s more time to spare and wander, then he/she might develop a willingness to read a chapter or two. Technology numbs the brain, and if you are letting your child take a break from technology, then you might be opening his brain to new and innovative ideas.

Step No. 2- Focused study for 2 hours

There’s a superstition that a student needs to slog day in and day out to rank in the Top 10 of his class. However, all it requires is just 2 hours of focused study. If your child is studying 2 hours a day, then in a week he/she will be 14 hours ahead of his/her classmates who are not putting in extra effort to score an A+ in final exams.

Step No. 3- Clarity of Fundamental Concepts

Classes 6th to 8th are the foundation years for a student. Some high-scoring subjects like Science and Maths need time to be understood. Before introducing complex theories of law, scientific lingo in science, and highly tricky algebra in Mathematics, the child needs to have a proper understanding of the basics of each subject.

If a builder is planning to construct a skyscraper, then he/she needs to design a very strong foundation for that building. Similarly, a child’s academic career requires a good foundation.

Step No. 4- Support from Parents

A child requires constant words of appreciation and support from parents. Suppose that your child scored an F in his surprise test. Would you expect him to confide into you about the bad score? If the answer is no then even you are unable to offer a certain level of support and appreciation to your child.

What’s the solution? If your child is honest enough to confess where he/she is lacking, only then can you work to figure out a solution. When a child is free from the tension of proving his metal to his parents there’s a better chance that he will try to improve his academic ranking.

Step No. 5- The right resource for study

Referring to NCERTs is not the solution if you want to make your child a topper. You need 3-step preparation to let your child have a bright future in academics. Do you know what the three steps are?

The first step is complete study, the second is complete assessment, and the third is complete practice. NCERTs are a rigid way to even complete one’s academic syllabus. Your child needs Arihant’s All In One books for classes 6th, 7th, and 8th.

All In One books for class 6th have special features like mind maps, illustrative figures, simplified theory, and whatnot. Similarly, the All In One book for Class 7th has ‘Boxed Matter’ to present daily life examples of complex concepts and ‘Let’s Investigate’ to decode interesting experiments.

Conclusion

We know that every parent wants to ensure that his/her child scores an A+ in the next unit exams. However, the harsh reality is that integrated preparation is required to reach this pedestal.

Although parents make a conscious effort to make their child mug up every piece of information in the market, this strategy can never guarantee that their child will pass the examinations with flying colors.

Not only that, it also puts the child under the spotlight to derive better scores, which in turn leads to the development of toxic traits like self-comparison. If you encourage your child to discard the practice of devoting all of his/her time to studying and let them have fun as well, there’s a higher chance that they might start enjoying their studies.

Now, this can only happen when a single resource can cater to all the academic needs of a child. Arihant’s All In One for classes 6th-8th does just that. Parents can now gift their child some less stress, and make the academic process more enjoyable with Arihant’s All In One.
