1. Nationality
· An Indian citizen
· A citizen of Bhutan
· A citizen of Nepal
· Tibetan refugee who settled in India (permanently) before or on 1st January 1962.
· An individual of Indian origin who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Malawi, Zambia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia to settle down in India permanently.

CDS Eligibility 2026 Important Points
· If candidates don’t fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the commission, the candidature of such candidates will be declared null or void at any stage of recruitment.
· If the candidate is found guilty after the appointment, the candidate will be terminated from the services.
· Candidates are required to have to produce valid documents at the time of document verification.
· Male divorcee applicants will not be considered unmarried. Thus, they will not be eligible for CDS.
· Any change in date of birth is not allowed during any stage of recruitment.
· Candidates below 25 years are required to be unmarried. Marriage will not be allowed during the training period.
· Candidates above 25 years are eligible to apply for their respective academy but during the training period UPSC will not provide accommodation and candidates will not be able to live with family outside the premises.
