CBSE has prescribed the long reading texts from the academic year 2012-13 to be included in curriculum of secondary education. The Board states that it is must to foster good reading habits in students of secondary education and thereby develop their imagination, expression and linguistic skills.
In order to provide appropriate reading text to students we bring this English Hindi Series of “The Invisible Man” with Short Summary, Vocabulary, Summary, Character Sketch and Question Answer. The text is supported with relevant sketches that engage a reader into imagination. Before being published as a novel, this science fiction work was first published in 1897 in Pearsons Weekly.
The Invisible man of the title is Griffin a scientist who has devoted himself to research and invents a way to change a body’s refractive index to that of air so that it absorbs and reflects no light and thus becomes invisible. He performs this experiment on himself but fails to reverse the same. Wells narrates this as third person’s point of view.
